Ambulance Dispatcher

Duties and Responsibilities: Ambulance dispatchers answer emergency calls such as the 911 calls. They make out what type of emergency and its location and decide the appropriate response of the agency procedures.They coordinate the dispatch of emergency response personnel to accident scenes. They also monitor and track the status of police, fire. And ambulance units. They also keep detailed records of all calls.

Salary: 39,640$

Education: Most dispatchers are required to have a high school diploma, background check, and drug test.

Demand and or Need for this profession:  Dispatchers must stay calm in order to answer calls, get information, and coordinate responders. They must be able to communicate an emergency effectively like giving the appropriate response. They must be able to multitask. For example, they need to know how to be calm, polite, and sympathetic while taking important information.
Reflection: I would not like to be one. This is because it would be too stressful and I would get frustrated quick. I also wouldn’t have time for it and I would panic a lot.
